Mythic Odysseys of Theros

GM

Jeremy McDonald (he/him)

Did you know it is a scientifically proven fact that you cannot have a meeting with Jeremy without an inquiry into your passions for TTRPGs. He would tell you that TTRPGs are the 6th level on the Hierarchy of Needs. As a player for 14 years and a GM for 13 TTRPGs, he is well versed in a variety of systems and would love to offer his experience to the Opal Grove community.

He has run both private and professional games, from home to conventions, with players ranging from 7 to 70. He is committed to ensuring every player has the best time at his table he can. Games will be balanced with players in mind after a session 0 discussion. Whether a combat heavy gauntlet, a cloud of mysteries, or impassioned roleplay, he is willing and ready to tailor the game to fit the kind of game you are interested in playing.

Gameplay

This campaign will rely on the base D&D 5e ruleset, plus the Mythic Odysseys of Theros supplement.

Summary

In Theros, for as long as anyone alive can remember, the gods have been untouchable. But the past decade has proven that to be untrue. Gods can be created, gods can be killed, gods can be usurped, and worst of all, there are things out there far worse than the gods. Things that can turn the gods into puppets... but this is not that story.

This is your story, which comes after. You have done your time, you have fought your war, and now all you long for is home. But in a war unlike anything you have ever seen, the once-familiar journey is now a life-threatening trek. Dangers from childhood tales to an undead goddess stand between you and home. Are you ready for what monsters await you? Are you ready to fight your way through? Are you ready to be legendary?

Character Creation

The group will create characters as a table. For those who like to plan ahead, all official WOTC release classes and subclasses are allowed as well as some 3rd party Theros supplements, although those related to the setting are encouraged. Racial options will be limited to those native to the plane.

Safety Tools

During session 0, your GM will introduce the concept of lines and veils and set aside time to establish those as a table. X cards will also be present for in-session boundary setting.
