OGG Campaigns
We're embarking on an exciting new adventure! Beginning in January 2025, we're hosting three-month RPG campaigns in collaboration with local professional GMs (game masters). For folks who've been wanting to try roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons or just searching for a new group, our campaigns are reliable, meet consistently, and don't require you to own any books or accessories to get started.
Process
- Join the Opal Grove Discord server.
- Submit a registration form.
- Get matched into a campaign.
- Create your character (with help from your GM).
- Have fun exploring a new world!
Prior to the start of the season, prospective players can read through descriptions of the upcoming campaigns to get a sense of what play will be like. The player registration form tells OGG staff and the GMs when everyone is able to meet regularly, what experience they have with RPGs, and what players are hoping to gain or learn.
OGG will take all of this information, as well as the GMs' goals and preferences, into account and match up all of the groups. At that point, players who've been matched into a group will receive an invoice. Paying that invoice secures a player's spot in a campaign.
Each group gets a private channel in our Discord server. This provides a low-pressure opportunity to connect with fellow group members and ask questions of the GM. This private channel can be used for session notes, metagaming, inside jokes, anything that your group wants to use it for!
Several campaigns run at once over the course of 12 weeks. Each group will meet in the private gaming room at Opal Grove Games for no more than four hours per session. All campaigns begin with a Session Zero, where you'll finalize characters, discuss boundaries, and fine tune the world/story you'll be playing through with your GM.
If your GM is ever unable to make it in for your scheduled timeslot, a staff member who's been following along with your campaign will step in to run that session!
Pricing
Each session is $30 and there are 12 sessions in a campaign. You can pay up front and get two free sessions ($300) or you can pay monthly (3 payments of $120). Either way, the majority of this fee goes toward paying the GM.
In addition to a rich and engaging roleplaying experience, you'll get:
- matched with a group to play with consistently for 12 weeks
- use of our private gaming area
- access to your game's core book for reference
- all necessary printed materials and supplies, including character sheets
- accessories (dice, cards, towers, etc.) available to borrow in-store
- in-store storage between sessions
- a drink and a snack each session
Upcoming Campaigns
A Season in Waterdeep
GM: Jeremy (he/him)
System: Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition
Summary: This will be a modified version of Waterdeep Dragon Heist. It will be set in Waterdeep but enough will be changed so even people that have played the module before won’t know everything that will happen. The characters are people that call Waterdeep home. When the chance is given to leave a mark on the city, what shape will that mark take?

A House of Plenty
GM: Nel (any/they)
System: Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (with Witch+Craft)
Summary: In addition to concocting proto-typical sword & sorcery adventurers, players' characters will also be makers of a particular craft, supported by Witch+Craft's very elegant and satisfying crafting system. The party will make things, break things, fix a house, and ruin a plot - or have a good time trying. There will be combat - this will probably run just a shade less cottage core than the book prescribes.

Scars of the Solstice
GM: Anthony (he/him)
System: Lancer
Summary: You are Lancers, pilots of mechanized cavalry deployed by the galactic federation (UNION, Third Committee). Recently graduated from academy, you are about to embark on your first mission; but it could be your last.

The Teen Campaign
GM: Aisha (she/her)
System: TBD
We're running a campaign specifically for young roleplayers! This campaign is special in that its structure will be guided largely by the players' experience and interests.
